Historie to be(e): Growing Inclusion, Skills and Biodiversity in Our Company Garden.

The Historie to be(e) project, promoted by Fondazione Historie with the support of Fondazione Cariverona, continues to grow in our company garden, transforming agriculture and beekeeping into tools for training, inclusion and skills development for people facing vulnerable situations.

Created with the goal of providing concrete opportunities for learning and personal growth, the project engages participants in hands-on activities that allow them to acquire new knowledge, gain practical experience and build confidence in their abilities.

Over the past few months, the project has gained momentum through seedbed preparation, sowing activities and the first harvests of lettuce, tomatoes, spinach, basil, pumpkins and other crops. This work requires care, consistency and collaboration, while also offering the satisfaction of seeing the results of one’s commitment take shape and grow.

Alongside agricultural activities, the garden has also become a space for experimentation and creativity. Participants have taken part in the creation of a living willow structure and workshops focused on anthotypes and cyanotypes, techniques that combine nature, observation and craftsmanship, offering new ways to interact with the surrounding environment.

A particularly significant milestone was reached in April with the arrival of the first bee colonies. Following the preparation of the apiary and the necessary structures to host them, participants began their beekeeping journey. Equipped with protective suits, gloves and a little courage, they are learning how to care for bees while gaining a deeper understanding of their essential role in biodiversity and ecosystem balance.
